Theatre for the Very Young at Atlas!


 Brother Bear runs February 13-18
Imagination Stage brings  their popular story Brother Bear to the Atlas.  Watch as Brother and Sister Bear experience a full year of glorious seasons. Together we see a waterfall melt, meet a butterfly, chase an elusive fish, and skate on an icy pond. Children are invited to join the action with a small bag of props that help create magical moments.  Perfect for ages 1-5.

Out of the Box!

Arts on the Horizon returns to the Atlas with their delightful story Out of the Box featuring an energetic young girl named PJ, as she discovers the possibilities one box can hold. With the everyday items she finds in the box, PJ transports the audience into her imaginary world filled with new places and sounds to explore. One room can hold an entire ocean: one box, an entire cave: 3 stuffed animals can be friends and fellow adventurers; and home takes on a new meaning.
Out of the Box is infused with magic that comes from the young audience's willingness to use their imaginations and play.

The show is running November 12 - 18, 2012 (No Boogie Babes show on Friday, November 16, Out of the Box at 10 and 11:30)

Nellie and Amelia are two adventurous mice, ready to explore the world beyond their little mouse-hole. They decide to go to the moon, since it is reportedly made of delicious, mouth-watering cheese.

Enter a world where giant jellyfish fly through the air, sheep graze in the grass, and lemons create the sun in a “let’s pretend” sky. With gentle music, beautiful puppets, and imaginative props, Jack and Calypso lead children and caregivers to a magical, interactive world. Imagination Stage, an international leader in family theater, is a proud presenter of “serious fun for the very young” in their innovative live performance experiences.
Imagination Stage is the largest multi-disciplinary theatre arts organization for young people in the Mid-Atlantic region, offering a year-round season of professional shows, after-school programs and summer camps for ages 1-18, and arts-integration professional development training for teachers, students, schools and families.

Using music, sounds, and gentle interaction, PJ will engage children and adults in crafting this delightful and fun-filled world together.


This world premiere production is a 30-minute, interactive, non-verbal show featuring an adult actor and musical accompaniment by an upright bass player.
